"I am currently working as a Junior Designer/Marketing Assistant at Silhouette International, an Austrian based eyewear company. APO has shown me how powerful people can be when they are passionate about changing the world, as they see it."

Megan Bucki

"I graduated New Paltz Dec. 2015 with my Masters. I am currently working as an administrative manager at Arnouse Digital Devices, a technology firm. I truly enjoyed being a part of APO and meeting so many amazing people. It was a great experience to work with so many people who cared about helping and bettering the community. APO has shown me that the smallest task in helping someone can make a huge difference and that has been something I kept with me after college. I have learned so much from my time in APO and even better, I have made lifelong friends."

Kristen Bucki

"I was one of the founders of APO. I Joined APO in the Fall of 2014. I graduated from New Paltz in the Spring of 2016. I currently work for the NYS Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. I really enjoyed my time in APO. I met lifelong friends that I still hangout with and talk to today. Also, I learned in APO how to manage my time which helped me get my job."

Alyssa Burino

"I will be continuing my Masters in School Counseling at New Paltz. APO has taught me how important it is to give back to the community, how far a helping hand can go, and the importance of teamwork. Organizations were so grateful for our help and this feedback encouraged me even more to help out the community. Having brothers by my side added to the positivity of my experiences. Watching APO grow from a petitioning group to the Alpha Gamma Delta chapter was incredible and I can't wait to see what else APO does in the future!"

"Since graduating I have been busy continuing my studies at the University of Arizona to obtain my doctorate in audiology!  APO was great as it allowed me to connect with people that I would not have met without the love of service and community to bring us together! APO allowed me to learn a lot about leadership, make life long connections, and be a part of something bigger than myself."

Stephanie Caban

"Working at a non-profit right now recruiting volunteer tutors really makes me appreciate even more my time in APO. Community service is so much more than hanging out with your brothers and doing something good. What I loved about APO is that service was stressed so much because it should be seen as a VALUE in everyone's life. We spend so much time thinking about ourselves when we could be giving all that we were created to be, sharing our gifts and talents to act more selflessly in a world that doesn't always encourage that. The best thing about APO were its leaders who continue to strive to make service a value in everyone they meet."

"Currently I am enjoying the rest of my summer before I commence my job search! I was recently in London for a month visiting my boyfriend and friends I met the semester I studied abroad. I am excited to begin looking into different opportunities related to my interests: writing, music and digital media. I thank APO for expanding my college experience. I loved getting to know more of the Hudson Valley and having the opportunity to help out our community in a meaningful way. Lastly, I am so grateful for all the amazing people I have met through APO."

"I am currently looking for a job in television. For the past three years, APO has given me a sense of community and allowed me to meet lifelong friends. Because of APO, I have learned more about lending a helping hand to those in need. Friendship, leadership, and service will always be part of my mantra!"

"Taking a gap year to travel and work. I will be substituting in the Binghamton School District for the 2017-2018 school year. APO-AGD has such a special place in my heart. I slowly started getting involved in leadership positions, first attending sectionals then running for positions. I learned a lot about myself and working with others. Everyone I have met in APO, in our chapters and other chapters, have such a unique touch to the fraternity. It’s truly been a blessing to be a part of an organization that works hard and embraces everyone in it."

"Hi everyone! As cliche as it sounds, APO helped me find my place at SUNY New Paltz. Not only did I make many new friends, but I also have new brothers! I am currently continuing my education by getting my masters in STEM Education at SUNY New Paltz."

Dylan Krakowski

"I am currently working in M&A consulting in New York City. APO exposed me to different cultures, values and ideas. I feel privileged to work with so many passionate hard working people. Not only did I have the opportunity to explore the Hudson Valley, I gained a deeper understanding of what it means to serve. APO helped me become a more compassionate friend, a stronger leader, and a more conscious citizen."

"After graduation I am in the job hunt in hopes of finding out what I want to make a permanent career and then eventually moving onto a master's degree. Even though my time in APO was way too short I am so thankful for all of the wonderful people I have met. Everyone was always so welcoming and I had so many unforgettable experiences. I never thought I would make so many close friends so quickly (shout out to my fam and my betas!). I can't wait to come back and see all the amazing things that this chapter will continue to do!"

"Currently, I am a special education teacher for high school aged students in NYC. After graduation, I worked for a company called  New Visions for Public Schools. It was at this job that I found my passion for teaching special education. I am getting my masters in Adolescent Special Education at Pace University in part with the NYC teaching fellows. Alpha Phi Omega taught me to never give up despite hardships. Always persist even when things fell tough. In addition, it helped prepare me for my current job in education, which is ultimately public service. Being a founding member of APO was juggling a lot of work and responsibility. I know, now, that it really prepared me for my career."

"After graduating I am staying here at SUNY New Paltz to pursue my Master's degree in Educational Administration with a concentration in Leadership. As a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, I served the chapter as the New Member Educator as well as the Service Vice President, which were two very fulfilling positions. During my time as an active brother of Alpha Phi Omega, I was able to give back to my community in various ways as well as make everlasting friendships which I will cherish forever."

"After graduation I'm going out to the west coast for a little while before starting on the path to become a Physician Assistant. APO was an amazing experience that lead me to a bunch of great people and opportunities. It really pushed me to see all the available service opportunities around the Hudson Valley area and it was a ton of fun getting to do so many different types of service in various areas that needed help! From building chicken coops to food drives our service opportunities were so meaningful and broad and I appreciate them all. "

Rachel Pierson

"I joined APO at New Paltz as a founding father my first year when it was just a petitioning group. Since then, I've seen it grow and develop, just as I have myself. Being around this group of like-minded individuals has made me a better person, more confident in my skills, and given me a chance to make lifelong friends in college. After graduation, I'll be doing some traveling around Europe and South Africa, and then I'll be heading to Namibia, Africa with the Peace Corps for 27 months of service as a high school English teacher. APO has allowed me to live out my love for service during college, and now I'm going to continue to give back during my post-graduate life."

Shelby Platia

"I will be attending school in the city for the next four years to pursue a doctoral degree in Audiology. Becoming a founder of APO was one of the best decisions I made while at New Paltz. I hadn’t volunteered much before joining so it was a great experience to help others and to become something much bigger than myself. It was rewarding to hear when organizations or groups that we volunteered for appreciated our help. I am also grateful for the opportunity APO gave me to become brothers, and lifelong friends with people I may have not met had I not joined. I can’t wait to see the group's future success as an alumni!"

"After graduation I am working as a lead teacher at a special education preschool while taking classes to pursue my graduate degree in occupational therapy. APO has opened so many doors for me. Of course, I love the memories of volunteering and making a difference in the community, but what I will take away from APO is the friendship. Some of my best friends were made through APO, and for that I am forever grateful."

Samantha Verdecchia

Founder- Graduated Spring 2017

"After graduation, I'll be pursuing a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LIU Post. Alpha Phi Omega gave me an outlet to develop my leadership skills that I'm not sure I would've found elsewhere. Holding different leadership positions let me contribute to our chapter in different ways and I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to experience those different points of view. It also gave me a group of friends that has such a unique bond and can be a great source of inspiration and motivation. A lot of my social support came from my Brothers and I look forward to keeping them as long term friends. Alpha Phi Omega was my way to give back to the community around me and also do some self healing in the process. It feels good to do good, and with all the opportunities we were given to serve others, I felt great. I will always appreciate and cherish my time and experiences in Alpha Phi Omega."

"In the fall, I will be attending LIU Post for a 2 year program to obtain my masters in speech pathology. APO taught me teamwork, the importance of leadership, and the meaning of service. APO was a crucial part of my college experience and I wouldn't change it for the world! I met lifelong friends through APO, and plan on continuing these friendships even in the years after college."

Nicole Zeltman

Founder- Graduated Spring 2017

"I'm attending graduate school at new Paltz to receive my masters in speech language pathology! APO has given me a sense of family and community while in college, and I wouldn't have had that close of a bond with as many people if I didn't join when we were a petitioning group. I am proud to see the growth of the chapter and can't wait to see even more growth post graduation!"
